FIRST EVER MTB INTERNAL GEARBOX.

The GT IT 1.0 is the first ever complete bike with a gearbox mounted in the frame and international GT/Hyundai/Muc-Off team rider Chris Smith is the first person in the UK to get his hands on one. Not surprisingly, he's already taken it out for a test drive and had this to say afterwards “It rides real well, it has 9 inches of travel and feels brilliant. It is so mega that it is almost silent, even when I case something. The gear changing is even better than I had imagined, you can change gear when you are coasting, which prepares you well if you are changing down to power out of a corner or berm. I love this bike, and my GT Dhi is definitely going to be relegated to the back of my garage”.

The bike has been designed with Freeriders in mind with the new gearbox system allowing greater efficiency during the process of converting pedal power into forward motion. The removal of the cassette/derailleur set-up makes the bike less susceptible to damage and means a reduction in the unsprung weight.
