[POSTED 18.09.06]

Silverstone saw two thrilling rounds this weekend, with Leon Haslam being knocked down to third place in the championship, due to a first race crash.

Haslam was not the only rider to crash out in the first round, Shakey and Laverty also crashed out as they collided, while Shakey tried to pass him at the chicane.

During qualifying Kiyonari also escaped with a bruising when he crashed at high-speed, while Lavilla had powered in the fastest ever two-wheeled lap of the International circuit to claim pole start.

In race two, Shakey enjoyed a battle with Honda's Jonathan Rea before proceeding a nail biting pass on the last lap at the same place he crashed earlier. He then took fourth and received a huge cheer from the crowd.

Race one saw a win from Honda's Ryuichi Kiyonari with Ducati's Gregorio Lavilla in second and Honda's Karl Harris in third.
