Motocross World Championship MX1- 2008 Round # 11 Lommel (Belgium)

[Posted 04.08.08]

Incredible Marc, but just for half!

After the fantastic pole position of yesterday, Marc De Reuver wins, with a great performance the first heat of the GP. In the second heat a mistake just four laps before the end, has taken off to him the merited victory.

It has been a great GP the one in the sand hell of Lommel in Belgium. Marc De Reuver has showed a superiority than the other riders. In the first heat after a start with the top riders he has showed an incredible recover that has brought him to the top of the race on the 15th lap. A little imperfection has cost to him the first place, but today there was in Lommel a Marc who has immediately said who was the best, taking back the head of the race and winning. Same story in race 2 when he has gone in 5th position starting the second recover of the day, ending with the first position on the 6th of 17 laps of the day. On the 13th lap, just four before the end, Marc has lost the control of his Honda Crf Full Factory. A bad fall for our rider who has lost precious time before being able to start again, and when he has started back he has been constricted to ride slowly because a bad hurt on his head and was impossible for him to ride in a correct way. He has lost many position before the chequered flag and he has finished in 10th position. Just one point far from the third stair of the podium.
Also for Julien Bill satisfactions in just one heat. In the first heat he hasn’t been able to recover till the 20th position, instead a good 14th place in race2.

Marc de Reuver: “Absolutely unsatisfied. I could and I wanted win. I’ve showed to be the fastest rider on the track and it has been very easy to win the first race. In race 2, I have reached the head group easy too, but 4 laps before the end I was doing a series of Jumps and I have fallen down, so I have finished on the tenth place. I’m really sorry but those are the races and now I have to prepare me for the next one in Loket.”

Julien Bill: “A quite impossible track for my way of riding. I have been able to race fine in the second heat and those are “golden” points. Now I will try to do my best on the next circuit that is perfect for my way of riding.”

Paolo Martin, Team Manager: “A great day, even if there has been an unlucky moment for Marc. The victory was so near and we were calm. Marc has showed to be the best on this kind of circuit but you can never know what will happen. Riders have always to be wake up and pay attention. But if we consider that Marc shouldn’t be here we have just to be proud. Everybody has done a great job!”
No stop for the MX1, that will come back next Sunday on the circuit of Loket, Check Republic, for the 12th GP of the season.
