Motocross World Championship MX1 – 2008
Round # 9 Uddevalla (Sweden)

[Posted 07.07.08]

The 9th GP of the season has started with the time practice.
Marc De Reuver and Julien Bill close to the top ten.

Sweden hosts the protagonists of the golden season 2008 with a very summer clime. On the circuit of Uddevalla, about 90 Km northern of Goteborg, the time practice have taken place and have defined the grid for the tomorrow race. Another time the performances of the top riders have been equal and in the last of 2 seconds we can find all the best 15 riders. Marc De Reuver has been able to reach the 11th position, far 1.350 from the pole position, instead Julien Bill has finished the session closed to his team mate gaining the 13th position.
Marc De Reuver: “ Today I had a lot of difficulties in the interpretation of the best lines to follow. The track is really difficult and every single mistake could be paid a lot in time terms. During the warm up lap I controlled the trajectories just to understand where I could put the wheels but the lap after everything was changed and I have made a several mistakes. The 11th position doesn’t enjoy me very much but I ‘m sure tomorrow will be different. It is more or less impossible to keep a high race rhythm for the whole race registering the same times than the qualifies and I’m sure that getting better some trajectories I will be able to compete a good race. It will be important to don’t make mistakes and most of all to don’t fall, that with a so difficult track could happen every moment”.
Julien Bill:”I’m not satisfied of my performance, it’s obvious, but I‘m sure to be able to turn with lower times than today. I had a bad fight with the first part of the track where I found many difficulties to find the right lines and I was quite slow, instead in the second part I felt immediately fine. For tomorrow hope to start in a good way and to keep a good race rhythm for the time”.
Paolo Martin, Team Manager:” Also this time the gap between the top riders is very close and tomorrow everything could happen. The start is another time fundamental, and our riders during this phase have always been ready and reactive and I think both of them compete top race. This race will be hard too and the hot temperature that has arrived in Sweden too, could create some problem to those who are not well prepared. Marc and Julien have showed to be in good shape and I’m sure that tomorrow they could have an important result.”
