Sleepless in the saddle, the little brother to Mountain Mayhem is a Mountain Bike "Festival" in the truest sense of the word. Although staged with the same enthusiasm and attention to detail as its larger counterpart, Sleepless in the Saddle offers a more relaxed and intimate feel, whilst celebrating the end of the season for Cross Country racing in the UK.

This event really sums up what Mountain Biking is all about. It's less concerned with the winning and more about getting on your bike with friends. Sleepless in the Saddle commenced on Friday the 8th of August 2008 and just like so many UK festivals, the rain came shortly after turning the event into a mud bath.

However, as with Mountain Mayhem before it, help was on hand in the shape of co sponsor Muc-Off's 'Professional Series' wash area.

This area had been designed and built in-house by the Muc-Off team specifically for events like this. After its initial outing and success at Mountain Mayhem the Muc-Off team decided on several modifications (they're perfectionists). These included several reinforcements to cope with the abuse of cleaning 1500 competitors bikes as well as a more efficient drainage and water recycling system.

Muc-Off's 'Professional Series' wash area comprises of three fabricated bicycle specific cleaning baths with jet washes and a separate lube area offering riders the opportunity to get their bikes cleaned and re-lubed for free, using the full range of Muc-Off's superior bike care products including their new range of wet and dry lubes. Over the course of the weekend, over 5000 bike cleans and re-lubes were performed.
